	Meetings to be held

2012- 2013 DHS BOOSTER CLUB MEETINGS

Meetings will be held on Mondays in the DHS Commons at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Executive meetings will begin at 6:00 PM. General meetings for all booster club members will start at 6:30. Any DHS parent is encouraged to attend!

	Description of DHS Booster Club

The DeSoto Cat Boosters are a volunteer organization whose members include parents, school staff and members of the DeSoto community who actively support DeSoto High School and it's students. The Cat Boosters goal is to enhance the academic and extracurricular environment at DHS for all students.

The Cat Boosters have several openings for leadership positions. If you are interested in helping, or wish to find out more about contributing, please contact Toni Caldwell.

	Past Contributions and Projects

The Booster Club's efforts support many of the academic and extracurricular activities at DHS.

Some of our past projects include:

Senior Scholarships awarded yearly to students entering college.
Nutrition snacks during state assessment testing days
Fan Wear Sales at many school events
Concessions at home sporting events
After Prom Party to provide a safe, fun place for Prom attendees to party after the dance.
Event Refreshments at drama and debate activities.
Booster Pals program which makes donations to student activities like band, dance team, volleyball and more.
Fundraising Events during the school year to help pay for Booster projects.
Gifts to the School - geared to benefit all students


	Booster Club Meetings

All of the things we do during the year require the volunteer efforts of many people. There are lots of different ways to get involved in supporting our students. Join the Boosters this year and help us to make a difference at DHS. A few hours a year from you really helps! Attend a meeting soon to find out more!! Our meetings are typically on the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the High School Commons. Even if you do not get to a meeting, please consider volunteering some time to assist with booster activities. Contact one of our officers to see how you can help.
