Back to School

Starside Elementary Back to School Bash and PIN Night

Hosted by the Starside PTA & Starside Elementary

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Doors open at 5:45 PM – Welcome to the 2010-2011 School Year!!

Anytime during the evening, students may find their lockers and their classrooms and put supplies in their lockers!  Class lists will be posted on front windows and at each classroom.

IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS (students welcome)

In the GYM Team presentations will include about 15-20 minutes of information designed to introduce families to the teaching staff at that grade level, as well as to give a brief overview of the curricular emphasis, schedule, homework expectations, and communication plan for the grade level.  Parents should also watch for an informational packet that will come home with your child during the first week of school.  This will be a great opportunity to get back into the habit of checking backpacks!  Please be on time!

When should we be in the gym? (All times are PM)

6:00 – 6:20   KinderComets
6:25 – 6:45   1st Grade

6:50 – 7:10   2nd Grade

7:15 – 7:35 3rd Grade

7:40 – 8:00   4th Grade

8:05 – 8:25   5th Grade

8:30   5th Grade Band

In the Cafeteria:  The PTA will be serving snacks, and PTA, along with various other organizations, will provide information regarding the many ways for you and your family to get connected at Starside!  For your convenience, you’ll exit the gym through the cafeteria, but feel free to stop in the cafeteria at any time!

Do we have to be here the whole evening from 6:00 – 8:30?

Although you are welcome to be here for the entire evening, you really only need to be here for your child’s assigned grade level time and whatever time you need to check out the class list, put supplies in lockers, check out the PTA connections & socialize!

Where do we park?  (Great question!)

There is parking in lots both in front and behind the school, in the bus loop, and extra space on 91st street along with the Admin building next door.  Since families will be able to come and go, it should work out for all of us.  Please drive slowly and watch for children!
