Each board member district has two elected representatives. There is also one at-large position for a total of seven elected board members. The seats are grouped into the following districts:

Positions 2 and 5 = board member district (Shawnee)

Positions 3 and 6 = board member district (Shawnee and a small area of Lenexa)

Positions 1 and 4 = board member district (De Soto, Lenexa, Olathe, a portion of Shawnee, and unincorporated areas)

Position 7 = at-large
