INVITATION You are hereby invited to bid on a General Contract for Construction, including mechanical and electrical work, for the referenced project as described below.
A single, stipulated sum bid will be received; segregated bids will not be accepted.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Approximate area of building: 15,900 SF of building addition & 4,500 SF renovations,
Estimated construction cost range (base bid): $3,000,000 - $3,100,000
Abbreviated written summary: Briefly and without force and effect on Contract Documents, work of Contract can be summarized as follows:
1) Sitework: Building pad grading, sidewalks, storm drainage. 2) Foundations: Trench footings 3) Structural Frame: Load-bearing CMU, steel beams, steel joists, steel decking. 4) Exterior Building Envelope: Brick veneer, Insulated Metal Panels. 5) Roofing: SBS Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing 6) Doors, Windows and Hardware: Interior and exterior steel doors, HM frames, door hardware 7) Interior Finishes: VCT, rubber cove base, sealed concrete, resinous flooring, carpet, carpet tile, ceramic tile, gypsum board & CMU partitions, lay-in ceilings, painting. 8) Specialties and Equipment: toilet accessories, fire extinguisher cabinets, display case, operable partitions, markerboards & tackboards 9) Special Construction/Conveying Systems: N/A 10) Mechanical Work: Roof top mechanical units, sheet metal ductwork & displacement diffusers. 11) Electrical Work: Typical school lighting, power, and special systems

CONTRACT DOCUMENTS Full sets of documents will only be loaned upon deposit of $150 per set, available after February 9, 2010 from Lane Blueprint Company (Contact: Tom Davis), 8700 Sante Fe, Overland Park, Kansas 66212 (913-529-2500), On-line Plan Room: www.laneblueprint.com . Checks shall be made out to "De Soto USD 232".
A maximum of three sets will be loaned to General Contractors. A maximum of one set will be loaned to major subcontractors (Masonry, Structural Steel, Roofing, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Technology). Additional sets or individual sheets may be purchased by any bidder directly from Architectural Blueprint.
Sets are fully refundable upon the return of the plans and specifications in good conditions (as determined by Lane Blueprint), within 30 days of the bid opening. Good condition is defined as complete with all sheets unmarked.
Sets not in good condition will have the following amounts deducted from the deposit return:
Specifications: $50 per book. Drawings: $5 per sheet.

BID SECURITY AND BONDS Bid Security and bonds will be required in accordance with "Instructions to Bidders".
