Common Core State Standards
Changes in Math - Coming this fall, 2012!

Welcome to our Common Core Webpage.

Introduction
USD 232 is embracing the Common Core Standards movement and is confident these new State Standards will be beneficial in preparing students for success in college and future careers.  Common Core State Standards were adopted by the State of Kansas and will replace the current Math and English/Language Arts Standards.

All Kansas school districts are required by the Kansas State Department of Education to begin preparing for full implementation of these new standards by the 2014-2015 school year.  USD 232 welcomes the addition of Common Core and is modifying some instructional programming to prepare for full implementation.

Because this is a significant initiative that requires careful planning, the district will first begin phasing in the new Common Core Standards in the area of Mathematics. Other content areas, such as English/Language Arts will follow.

Below is additional information regarding Common Core Math Curriculum and how this will impact students.
