On November 4, 2008, voters authorized the Board of Education to move forward with a bond issue proposal not to exceed $75 million. The Board will accomplish the following:

• Expand Mill Valley High School in Shawnee to a capacity of 1,450 students
• Construct a new elementary school at 58th & Belmont in Shawnee
• Expand De Soto High School in De Soto to a capacity of 1,000 students
