Mission Statement
Lexington Trails Middle School (LTMS) has a family environment in which students, parents, teachers, staff and community work as a team to educate and empower students.

The LTMS team believes:
·
Student needs are the main priority.
·
In respecting the unique talents and abilities of students that contribute to our diversity.
·
In holding everyone accountable for his or her own actions and decisions.
·
In creating a physically, socially, and emotionally healthy environment where all feel safe.
·
In presenting a creative, challenging, and meaningful curriculum that will benefit students in everyday life.
·
In giving students the opportunity to reach their highest potential without bias.

Math?

LTMS has created a math lab for students who need extra math instruction outside of class.  Students may seek help from a math teacher before school from 7:15 - 7:55 Monday through Friday and 3:00 - 3:45 Monday through Thursday.  If you have questions, please contact Ben Huebsch (bhuebsch@usd232.org).

Dress Code and Shopping
Like many schools across the country, LTMS has struggled to find a dress code that is appropriate for the academic environment and is enforceable.  Please note the guideline for shorts is a 6-inch inseam.  This standard will provide adequate coverage for all students.  Although shorter shorts are in fashion, I have been assured that the longer shorts can be found in several different stores.  For the upcoming school year the following dress code has been adopted.

Student Handbook - Dress Code
Appropriate school attire is expected.  Dress should be clean, neat, reflect good taste, be considered safe, should not be disruptive or possibly hazardous during school activities (i.e. in technology, laboratories, athletics, art, and physical education class), and should fully cover the students' torso, shoulder tops, and legs to mid-thighSpecifically, pants and shorts which sit below the waist (sagging or bikini cut), shorts with less than a 6 inch inseam, skirts which don't cover mid-thigh, excessively tight clothing, spaghetti-strap tops, halter tops, and midriff tops should not be worn at school.  Clothes or objects with references to inappropriate subjects such as alcohol, drugs, sexual innuendo, profanity, lewd language, or graphics should not be worn or brought to school.  Heavy coats, head coverings (hats, scarves, bandanas), and sunglasses may be worn to school, but must be taken off and left in the locker upon entering the building.  The administration will make the final judgment on the appropriateness of clothing and/or appearance, and reserves the right to prohibit students from wearing any articles of clothing or other items which may result in the disruption of or interference with the school environment. In the event the administration determines a student's dress is inappropriate for school in accordance with this policy, the administration will require the student to become compliant with the school dress code. Repeatedly failing to adhere to the dress code will result in disciplinary action.
