    Program Description

Photo of typical early childhood classroom The USD 232 Early Childhood Department serves district students, ages three to five, in a variety of ways.  These include: delivering special education services and completing special education screenings/evaluations, providing a preschool experience to students who may not have access to preschool through grant funding (KSDE At-Risk and Kansas Preschool Pilot Grants) as well as offering a fee based preschool experience for USD 232 families (previously titled the peer model program).  There are currently seven preschool classrooms. All children benefit from multiple opportunities to interact with their peers and learn appropriate social behavior and play skills from one another.
