Information for Parents
School Supplies: Students attending the preschool classroom are asked to have a backpack, two pocket folder and a change of clothes for preschool. School supply lists are available in the school office. Students in evaluation or who attend by appointment do not require school supplies.
Enrollment Process: An enrollment appointment will be scheduled with each family. For this appointment, parents will need to complete the USD 232 enrollment process for their child. Please bring the following documents to this appointment: (1) student’s birth certificate, (2) updated copy of student’s immunization records and (3) a recent utility bill with parent name and address (to document proof of residency within USD 232). Please note: the enrollment process may look different over the summer months.
Evaluation Timeline: Students transitioning from Infant Toddler Services (ITS) will be evaluated prior to their third birthday (unless referred to the school district less than 90 days prior to the third birthday). All other initial evaluations will be completed within the sixty school day timeline. Case managers will schedule evaluation meetings with parents.
Additional Information for Student’s Attending the Preschool Classroom: Students attending the preschool classroom are asked to bring an extra set of clothes and underwear (if toilet trained) to keep at school in case of accidents. For students who are not yet toilet trained, please bring items your student uses (e.g. diapers, pull ups, wipes, etc.). Each student is asked to have a back pack and a two pocket folder at school each day. The folder will be used for communication and to send papers home.
Additional Information for Students Receiving Services by Appointment: The case manager will schedule evaluation/service times directly with parents. The service provider will meet the student/parent in the office prior to and after the appointment.
Transportation: Some students may demonstrate a need for special education transportation services. Please let your child’s case manager know if transportation services may be needed. First Student (bus company) will contact parents with pickup and drop off times. Transportation services are not available for peer model students.
