Jamie serves as Coordinator for the Parents as Teachers program. Her employment with USD 232 Parents as Teachers began as a Parent Educator in February of 1999 and she became Coordinator of the program in July 2010.  Prior to becoming a Parent Educator, Jamie provided in-home child care to families as an accredited child care provider for over 15 years. Prior to that, she served as Director of the Infant Center at KU Medical Center. During her time as a Parent Educator, Jamie has visited hundreds of families through the years and has throughly enjoyed sharing information and partnering with each of them on their parenting journey.

Kim Oakleaf-Soell

Parent Educator

Kim is a Clinical Social Worker and has worked in the role of Parent Educator for USD 232 Parents as Teachers since the summer of 1999. Prior to this position, she worked as a Child and Family Therapist at The Children's Place and also various settings ranging from community mental health to residential treatment and hospitals. Her first job out of college was as a Youth Service Worker providing care/education for juvenile offenders for the State of Kansas Rehabilitation Services. All of these experiences treating individuals impacted by abuse/neglect/trauma have proven invaluable. Her career journey has led Kim to a committed mission of working at "prevention" and toward enhancing children and families' overall developmental well-being and success through parent education and support. She resides in the school district with her husband and they are the proud parents of a son in college and a teenage daughter. Kim finds working with families just starting out especially exciting and rewarding.

Brianna Gipple

Parent Educator

Brianna is a Parent Educator for the De Soto Parents as Teachers program. She graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Central Missouri and in 2017 with a master's degree in Early Childhood Unified from Emporia State University. She started her career in early childhood education working with infants and preschoolers. Prior to coming to USD 232, she worked as a Parent Educator for a Parents as Teachers program in Missouri. Brianna enjoys working along-side families and watching them grow as their child's most important teachers and advocates.
