Career Technical Education Center
-
The Board of Education desires to have a dedicated Career Technical Education (CTE) Center that will allow USD 232 to better serve the needs of students and the community. Our students need the opportunity to prepare for their future with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in career pathways. The new center will also assist with future growth by adding to the overall high school capacity.
CTE programming will help students connect what they are learning to the real world through a hands-on context. It will help them gain key skills to assist them in securing a job after graduation. It is also a great way to explore career options and meet the people who work in them.
If approved by voters, the CTE center would be located on property already owned by the school district, located on the northeast corner of 83rd Street and Mize Boulevard (next to Mill Creek Middle School). The district would take the necessary time to identify and plan for specific CTE programs, with input from the business community and parents, if the bond issue is approved. Specific programming has not been identified at this time.
