I previously taught 3rd grade and 4th grade in Lawrence for 8 years. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, cooking, and going for walks with my dogs.

Hi! My name is Sydney Thompson. I am so excited to be your child’s teacher! :) I just recently graduated from the University of Kansas in May of 2019 with my Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education. Rock Chalk! I completed my student teaching at Clear Creek last fall and am so excited to be back with a classroom of my own! When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling to the beach, and cheering on the Chiefs and Jayhawks. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year! :)

I am a graduate of Kansas State with a major in Business and had a wonderful college experience.  After graduation, I began an over 10 year career in the electrical distribution industry wearing many different hats, from sales to design builds, at a smaller family-owned operation.  After many years in this industry, I decided it was time to follow my dream of becoming a teacher.  It was something I always wanted to do and my wife finally urged me to pursue this dream.  I went back to school and got my Masters in Elementary Education from Rockhurst University and it has been one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. 

I am married and have two children with me right here at Clear Creek Elementary.  My wife, Sara, is also in education and is the PE teacher here at Clear Creek.  She is an absolutely wonderful teacher and an even better person.  I am very lucky to be able to call her my wife for almost 15 years now.
