Help us name our new facility

  • We are asking students to help us name the district’s new Career & Technical Education Center and Early Childhood Center.  Anticipated completion of the facility is August 2021.

You may submit more than one name for consideration. Your suggested name, along with rationale, should consider that the Career & Technical Education Center will be available for students from both high schools. The Early Childhood Center is for students from across the entire school district. Deadline for submissions is Friday, November 22.

The online submission form is now closed.

    Two programs in one facility.

CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER: The Board of Education desires to have a dedicated Career & Technical Education (CTE) Center that will allow USD 232 to better serve the needs of high school students and the community. Our students need the opportunity to prepare for their future with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in career pathways.

The CTE Center, although a separate space, will be connected to the new Early Childhood Center as one overall facility.

CTE programming will help students connect what they are learning to the real world through a hands-on context. It will help them gain key skills to assist them in beginning a career after graduation. It is also a great way to explore career options and meet the people who work in them.

What programs will be offered at the Career & Technical Education Center? The school district has not yet determined exact programs that will be offered to high school students. It is undertaking a process that is collecting input from stakeholders, such as students and the business community. Once programs are identified over the coming months, a proposal will be submitted to the Board of Education. Anticipated completion of the new facility is August 2021. The physical space for the CTE Center will be flexible so that programming can change over time to best support the interests and needs of students.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER: We believe a dedicated Early Childhood Center is the best way to provide high quality services for our youngest students. The Early Childhood Center will be connected to the new Career Technical Education Center. The Early Childhood Center would also create opportunities for high school students to explore education as a career pathway through the Career Technical Education programming.
