Curbside Grab & Go Meals
-
May 20th: Last day of meal distribution for the school year.
USD 232 is providing an opportunity for families to pick up free meals for children, ages 1-18, in a curbside grab-and-go service. The federal food program is administered through the United States Department of Agriculture and the Kansas State Department of Education.
NEW! TIME & LOCATION CHANGE
Due to a waiver of certain federal requirements, we can now shift our Shawnee distribution location to Monticello Trails Middle School. This change is effective, Monday, April 6. This location change will allow for more efficiency in our meal prep and distribution process. Prior to this change, we were restricted to a certain area in Shawnee. We are extending the Shawnee distribution time to 90 minutes.
- Monticello Trails Middle School, Shawnee – 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
6100 Monticello Road, Shawnee
We are adding two lanes of service.
We will add a “walk-up service only” at the office parking lot inside Woodland Townhomes, also effective April 6. There will no longer be drive-through service at Mid-America West Sports Complex. Our primary Shawnee location will now be Monticello Trails.
- Woodland Townhomes, Shawnee – 11:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Walk-up service ONLY; no drive-through service.
Children Must Be Present
To help us continue providing the service, we are asking parents and guardians for assistance. Since the meals are part of a federal food program, there are certain rules we have to follow.
If you and your family choose to participate, please note that all children must be present to receive free meals -- unless the appropriate waiver is on file with our student nutrition program. The waiver allows us to distribute meals to adults without children being present. Adult meals will not be available for purchase.
Interested in learning more about the waiver? Just send an email to nutrition@usd232.org and a member of our team will provide the information you need.
