Hello there! My name is Megan Turpin and it is my privilege to be your child’s elementary Principal at Riverview. I would like to welcome you all to what I am sure will be an AMAZING school year. I am excited to announce this is my 12^th  year with the outstanding De Soto school district. I previously worked at Belmont elementary as a teacher for 9 years and split my time the following two years between Riverview and Horizon elementary as the school's Improvement Specialist. If you haven’t been able to tell yet, De Soto has a firm place in my heart! 

I graduated from Emporia State University earning my Elementary Education degree and come from a family of educators. I also have my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Kansas. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK! My husband and I currently live in Gardner, Kansas…we are trying to make it up this way…but phew that market! We live there with our 3 dogs and fun and energetic 5-year-old daughter Savannah…who will be starting Kindergarten this fall at Riverview! 

We are going to learn and accomplish so many new and exciting things this school year. Please know that I encourage you to reach out when questions or concerns arise. This only best helps me with assisting by providing your child with a positive educational experience. I will always do my best to get back to you at my early convenience….
