Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) integrate into Career and Technical Education programs and courses across the country. CTSOs extend teaching and learning through innovative programs, business and community partnerships and leadership experiences at the school, state and national levels.  CTSOs are a powerful avenue for helping our nation address key challenges such as workforce development, student achievement, economic vitality and global competitiveness.

USD 232 participates in the following high school student organizations:

DECA

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high school and colleges around the globe.  DECA enhances the co-curricular education of members through a comprehensive learning program that integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition through industry-validated competitive events aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.

Educators Rising

Educators Rising is cultivating a new generation of highly skilled educators by guiding young people on a path from high school through college and into their teaching careers. By working with aspiring educators who reflect the demographics of their communities and who are passionate about serving those communities through public education, Educators Rising is changing the face of teaching.  The vision of Educators Rising is to provide a clear pathway in every school district in America for young people who want to serve their communities as highly skilled educators.

KSPA

The Kansas Scholastic Press Association is a non-profit organization composed of Kansas scholastic journalism students and their teachers. The educational organization is committed to excellence in journalism at all levels and views its focus as one of providing journalism education leadership for Kansas teachers and students. The KSPA provides a support system through its contests, conferences and scheduled activities.  Through real world digital media projects and activities, high school students learn teamwork, leadership, communication and employability skills.
