ACT, pre-ACT, WorkKeys Info
The Kansas Legislature appropriated funds for a statewide contract to provide one free ACT assessment and one free WorkKeys suite of assessments for all public high school juniors. Students are encouraged to take both assessments.
The district implemented a long-term strategic plan for increasing academic rigor for students. An essential component is the Pre-ACT for students in grades nine and ten. In an effort to help students with College and Career Readiness, both high schools offer ACT Preparatory courses as electives.
Students may also participate in the ACT WorkKeys to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate. WorkKeys are assessments in the areas of applied math, graphic literacy and workplace documents. These areas employers consider important for productivity and trainability. Learn more about ACT WorkKeys. We also encourage you to learn more about Kansas ACT State Testing.
Exams are closed sites solely designated for students enrolled in USD 232 schools. To register for any of the exams, contact your school's guidance counselor.
Students in Unified School District No. 232, Johnson County, Kansas, continue to score above state and national peers on the ACT College Readiness Exam.
