The USD 232 Education Foundation is pleased to be able to pledge $5,000 in support of DonorsChoose Needs-Based Grants. These grants are exclusively available to USD 232 certified educators, aimed at supporting qualifying projects that benefit classrooms within USD 232.
What does needs-based mean?
A needs-based grant is targeted towards projects or initiatives that address specific needs or challenges within a school or classroom setting, prioritizing funding for projects that aim to meet identified needs or address gaps in resources.
Criteria for Eligible Projects Listed on DonorsChoose:
- The project author must be a certified educator teaching at a school within the USD 232 school district.
- Projects must receive approval from the building administrator.
- Instructional technology and technology items are not eligible for the USD232EF Needs-Based Grant. This includes items such as printers, software, laptops, monitors, tablets, and subscriptions. Projects containing these items will not qualify for the USD232EF Needs-Based Grant.
- Projects cannot include funding for professional development.
- All projects must adhere to DonorsChoose guidelines.
- Please ensure your grant objectives align with your building and district goals.
- Grant winners may be asked to give verbal and/or visual presentations of their projects at future USD232EF meetings or events.
