    Open Mic Night, sponsored by StuCo, is Tuesday, November 12 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Country Club Cafe. Students and staff are welcome to showcase their talents or attend to watch & listen. Attendance is free, and a freewill donation will be collected for a holiday Adopt-a-Family. 

     

    A reminder that sophomores interested in representing MVHS at the HOBY Leadership Seminar this summer will need to complete the application by Wednesday, November 13.  The application is available in the counseling office.

     

    The boys basketball team is looking for anyone that would like to be managers for the upcoming season. If interested see Coach Bennett in A206.

     

    Tickets are now on sale for “NEWSIES.” The show runs through Sunday, November 17. Some shows are almost sold out, so see Mr. Copeland in the drama classroom, C130, to buy your tickets soon!

     

    Bring a can of soup to “Newsies” to help the drama department with a food drive for the DeSoto Food Pantry. Or you can just bring a can of soup, or any other non-perishable food item, to the drama classroom and we’ll add it to our collection.

     

    There is a Mandatory meeting for all girls basketball players on Wednesday, November 13 in Room A104 (Coach Mosher’s Room) at 2:40 p.m.

     

    Girls’ Basketball is also looking for managers for the upcoming season.  If interested please see Mr. Mosher or Mr. Nichols.

     

    There will be a meeting for any boy or girl interested in trying out for Bowling for the 2020 season on Wednesday, November 20 in the Senior Café at 2:30 p.m.

     

    Seniors…If you haven’t had your senior interview with your counselor and you’re interested in applying for a senior shortened day 2nd semester, please stop by the Counseling Office to pick up an application.

     

    The Read & Review meeting is this Wednesday, November 13 in the media center during seminar.  Even if you haven’t come before, come see how easy it is to pick out your new favorite book to take home and keep by writing a short review.

    Seniors, if you have an envelope and/or check for your yearbook senior ad, please turn it into the office before you leave today.

    Spanish National Honor Society will meet during seminar. Members should check in with their seminar teachers and then come to the SNHS meeting in C210 to watch MVTV together before our meeting.  This is a mandatory meeting.  We will be reviewing service opportunities and upcoming events and plans.

     

    Any Sophomore-Senior that is interested in trying out for the boys basketball team this upcoming season, there will be an informational meeting today, November 7 in Coach Bennett’s Room (A206) at 2:20 p.m.

    The Women’s Empowerment Club is holding a drive to collect supplies for Safehome, a women’s shelter. We are collecting donations of twin bedsheets, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, and other toiletries. Drop off your donations in the boxes outside of the counseling office. Tomorrow is the last day.

    jagPRIDE members – go to Ms. G’s office immediately after school to begin judging doors.

     

    Students signed up trick-or-treat so others can eat, the event has been moved to next week, Monday, Novem ber 4 through Wednesday, November 6. If you are no longer able to participate or need to move your sign up time, report to GL102 in seminar.

     

    Any girl interested in playing softball this spring needs to attend a brief meeting in Coach DeWild’s room (A107) today, October 31 after MVTV.

    Come support Mill Valley’s Unified Basketball team this Saturday, November 2 at Shawnee Mission East High School (Court 4) @ 1:00 p.m. against Bonner Springs, followed by the Championship /3rd place game at 2:00  p.m.  Hope to see you there!!
