    Students who are interested in joining Student Ambassadors for the 2019-20 school year should pick up an application in the counseling office.  See Mrs. Molgren with any questions.

     

    Everyone needs to check out lost and found in the commons. There are lots of water bottles and lunch bags that need to be claimed before the end of school! Jewelry is in the main office.

     

    Waterway Car Wash is excited to introduce the Teacher Grant Contest starting NOW!!  Please read the attached for details and visit the site - https://www.waterway.com/brighterfuture/. Students, NOMINATE YOUR TEACHERS!!! Waterway will be giving 2 teachers in each market a $500 grant AND a 12-month Circle level membership.  Why? To show Waterway’s strong commitment to education by supporting teachers with a grant for their classrooms and a clean car!

     

    Today starts the summer reading program at the Johnson County Library.  Print out a reading log at www.jocolibrary.org/summerreading and stop by the library to pick up your “prize” book to kick off your reading for this summer.

     

    Students should still check their lockers and at home for any overdue library books to turn in to the library.  Make sure to get this done before the end of the school year.

    The summer Driver’s Ed forms are now available online and in the office. The class starts the week of June 3. Classes meet Monday through Thursday at 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. for three weeks. The cost is $225. There are only 40 spots available.

    Detentions today are in the office.

    Team Wallace (students with last names Ri-Z) have won Jag Royale! Students who attended an activity of the week this quarter should have received a green reward pass from their seminar teacher. These students should plan to pick up their ice cream treat today during seminar or before leaving for early release in the commons. 

     

    There will be an NHS meeting for all 19-20 members Monday morning, May 20 at 7:20 a.m. in the Little Theater.  All members should plan to attend!

     

    Any students interested in a future in the medical field?  Please plan to attend the first meeting of a potential new club at mill valley: HOSA. HOSA is a nationally recognized club aiming to empower members to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. This club is open to ALL students!  Meeting on Wednesday, May 15 after MVTV in the senior cafe. See you all there!

    Jim Kincaid Memorial Foundation is offering a $1,000 Scholarship to two young men that are currently seniors in high school and will attend Kansas State University in the Fall of 2019. The application process is simple – go to http://jimkincaidmemorialfoundation.org/high-school-senior-scholarship/ . The application process will close on Sunday, June 30. Scholarship recipients will be notified by Monday, September 30.

You will need to have it checked, combination turned in and it cleaned out. Many of you were assigned one to use for sports and are not in a physical education class. Please see us this week.

    This coming Monday, May 20 is the start of the Johnson County Library summer reading program.  Stop by the Monticello library to pick up a reading log and your “prize” book for participating in the program.  More information is available at www.jocolibrary.org/summerreading .

     

    Don’t forget to return your library books by the end of the day.  Notices for overdue books and fines will be handed out by your seminar teachers to remind you of these items.

    There will be a cross country meeting today in the aux gym during seminar! 

     

    There will be an NHS meeting for all 2019-20 members next Monday morning, May 20 at 7:20 a.m. in the Little Theater.  All members should plan to attend!

     

    Any existing member of NHS who would like to apply for an officer position for the 2019-20 school year, please see Mrs. Sides or Mr. Wieland ASAP for an application.  Applications are due today, May 15.

    In less than a week the Johnson County Library Summer Reading program begins!  Students through high school can participate in the program with the theme “A Universe of Stories”, with the program beginning on Monday, May 20. More information is available at www.jocolibrary.org/summerreading .

     

    All books and materials are due back in the media center by this Friday, May 17.  Please make certain all items are returned and fines paid before heading out for the summer.
