All For Books

  • WHAT IS THE "ALL FOR BOOKS" COIN DRIVE?
    Great question!

The "All for Books" Coin Drive is an extension of our Book Fair that allows us the opportunity to support readers in need. We host a coin drive, use the money to purchase books from our Book Fair for a local cause and Scholastic matches our earnings and donates additional books to a national children's charity.

It's a win-win for all involved!By donating $1, or any amount that suits your level of support, we will purchase brand new, age appropriate books for the Ervin Early Learning Center. Read more about our support below... The profits of the sales support Clear Creek and the books support a library with minimal resources for their student population.

Simply complete the book plaque, found by clicking the link below, and send that to school with your donation in a LABELED (first/last name and class code) & SEALED envelope or baggie.
USE YOUR DONATION TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE "LITERACY LANTERN!"

That's right! At Clear Creek we like to celebrate reading while also supporting others in need. This year, your donations will determine the first ever CCE Literacy Lantern winner!

What is a Literacy Lantern you ask? Check-out the photos below... :)

A Literacy Lantern is simply a plastic pumpkin designed to resemble our favorite book characters. Twelve teams, including every CCE teacher and staff member, came together to decide on and make these incredible lanterns, a twist on the traditional Halloween jack-o-lantern.

During an upcoming library visit, children will have the opportunity to place their coin drive donations in the caldron matching their favorite character. The lantern earning the most money at the end of the two week voting period will be crowned the winner...and will earn the team of staff members a special reading prize.

How can you help and join in on the fun? Send in those donations and stay tuned to learn the winner! :)

VOTING WITH A DONATION AND SUPPORTING EARLY READERS IS GAURANTEED FUN FOR ALL!
    Ervin Early Learning Center
    ERVIN EARLY LEARNING CENTER
The EELC, a part of the Hickman-Mills School District located in Kansas City, Missouri, serves pre-K and kindergarten children. Their student population, 800 budding readers, would love the opportunity to practice their reading skills at home with books they check-out from their school library. However, with a collection of only 300 books total, children are unable to take home a book they borrow from the library and instead must look at during their time in the Media Center and then leave it behind. Our goal is to purchase 100 new books for their librarian to add to their collection. We feel pretty confident that we can do it!

And because our Clear Creek readers are so amazing, they have requested a book drive in order to donate gently used books that will accompany our delivery of brand new titles from the Book Fair. Look for more information regarding the book drive to be hosted during Book Fair week.
