Trish Terada
Hello! My name is Trisha Terada, and I am in my 9th year of teaching after taking 11 years off to raise my two boys, Kasen (5th) and Jaden (1st). I am so glad to be back in the classroom! I currently live on some acres in western Shawnee with my husband, Kaz and our boys. Kaz and I met in Arizona and have been married for 15 years. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education while playing competitive volleyball at Bethel College. A few years later, I attended University of Phoenix and received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. My family and I enjoy cooking together, training in the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, rooting for the Chiefs, doing everything outside, and taking care of all of our animals - chickens, fish, a snake, and 2 dogs!

Alyssa Whaley
My name is Alyssa Whaley, and I am a first-year teacher at Riverview Elementary. I spent the past four and a half years working at Children’s Mercy Hospital as a nurse technician. This is where my love for helping kiddos flourished. Working with sick kids was taking a toll, and I wanted to see them in more of a positive light. Thus, my venture in education began. I graduated from Emporia State University and am currently in my master’s degree program with them as well for Curriculum and Instruction.
My husband David and I have two boys. One is a first grader here at Riverview! The youngest one is two. Over the summer you will find us at our spot down at the lake. During the fall we cheer on our favorite team the KC Chiefs!
I am so excited to be a part of not only a great school, but an amazing district. I look forward to working alongside with you and your student this school year.

Jill Roush
Hi! My name is Jill Roush and I am in my 16th year of teaching. I have taught fourth and fifth grade. I grew up in Wisconsin and Iowa, then moved to Kansas City after I graduated from Iowa State University. My first degree was in Marketing, but later went to Ottawa University to earn my teaching certificate. I have always lived in the DeSoto school district with my husband Gary and three kids: Lindsay-26, Jack-23, and Ryan 21. In my free time, I love to travel (National Parks are my favorite), spend time at the lake, explore Kansas City, watch sports, read, and DIY house projects.
