At the beginning of the spring semester, current 5th-grade students will meet with their middle school counselors to prepare for 6th grade enrollment. Before that process begins, families in the Mill Creek Middle School and Monticello Trails Middle School attendance areas may request a voluntary transfer to Lexington Trails Middle School.

The USD 232 voluntary transfer request window is now closed for the 2026–27 school year.

Deadline: Friday, January 16 at 2 p.m.
Parents have the option to request a transfer until Friday, January 16 at 2 p.m. Requests received after January 16 will still be considered, but may be less likely to be approved.  

Bus Transportation Available
Voluntary transfer students to Lexington Trails Middle School will be offered free bus transportation. Bus service is available on a first-come, first-served, space-available basis. Routes are developed and planned around those who have registered during the open registration period for bus transportation. The district, in collaboration with transportation provider First Student, works to keep bus ride times for students at a reasonable level. It is our objective to shorten ride times and be as efficient as possible with transportation costs and resources.

Transfer requests for all schools other than Lexington Trails Middle School or De Soto High School will follow our general intra-district transfer process, which opens on February 1.
