Nonresident Enrollment
Also Known as Open Enrollment
All school districts in Kansas must allow for the enrollment of nonresident students, if space is available. As part of this requirement, each Board of Education must adopt a policy that aligns with the new state law. The Board of Education of USD 232 adopted its policy regarding Enrollment of Nonresident Students on December 4, 2023.

The application for the 2026–27 school year will be open January 1 through June 15.

IMPORTANT: The Board of Education determined open seats for the 2026–27 school year. This information is required to be posted to this webpage on or before June 1. Submitting an application does not mean approval. Read the policy for more details.
2026–27 School Year – Open Seats
The Board of Education determined the following open seats for nonresident enrollment for the 2026-27 school year.
- Belmont Elementary: grade 2 = 5 seats
- Clear Creek Elementary: grade 4 = 5 seats
- Riverview Elementary: grade 4 = 3 seats; grade 5 = 4 seats
- De Soto High School: grade 11 = 10 seats
