At the USD 232 Board of Education meeting on Monday, February 3, the Mill Valley High School Cheer team was recognized with a Certificate of Achievement for winning the 2024-25 Kansas Class 6A Cheer State Championship at the 8th annual Kansas Gameday Spirit Championship in November. This is the second year in a row that the MV Cheer Team captured the Kansas State title.
The student athletes focused its season on teamwork and leadership. They came together for their first showcase at Blue Valley High School where they gained experience and earned a 1 rating. Mill Valley went on to win a competitive UCA Regional title in Kansas City, MO, as well as an NCA Regional title that was held virtually for the entire country. Following the state title, the team traveled to Dallas in January to compete in a National Championship.
The Mill Valley Cheer Team joined coaches Jennifer Ivey, Brittany Burdolski and Katie Heffernon at the Board of Education meeting to be recognized by the Board and Superintendent Cory Gibson.
