On Monday, April 7, the USD 232 Board of Education meeting, the Board recognized Colton Bendure from Mill Valley High School for winning the Kansas Class 6A Wrestling State Championship in the 150-pound weight class. He was presented with Certificate of Achievement from the Board of Education as part of his recognition.

Colton finished the season at Mill Valley with a record of 41 and 5, placing in every tournament. His coach, Joseph Lazor, shared that “Colton is a leader on the team and that his teammates look up to him.” In addition to being a strong athlete, Colton is a leader in the classroom with a current GPA of 3.5.

Before relocating to USD 232, Colton was a state champion in Virginia in 2023 and state runner up in 2022.
