On March 28, Mill Valley High School hosted the 11th annual Relay for Life, raising an outstanding $75,120 and counting in support of the American Cancer Society.
This student-led effort was powered by 134 students who spent the year organizing fundraisers and planning the event. On the night of Relay for Life, 345 students coordinated 45 carnival-style games, a silent auction, food trucks, and a ceremony which featured Joe Shucardt, Leslie Gleason, and Avery Royer as guest speakers. The evening also included a Survivor Dinner honoring cancer survivors and fighters. Students who raised $100 or more were able to participate in additional activities overnight like Zumba, a talent show, a silent disco, and sunrise pilates.
Relay for Life of Jaguar Nation was led by four student chairs: Hadley Doyle, Taleen Elkhatib, Lilly Feuerborn, and Max Hannah. There were 21 students on the Executive Leadership Team, which oversaw 13 planning committees. Kirsten Jones is the Relay for Life school sponsor.
Corporate sponsors included Cottage Care Cleaning Services, Donovan’s Service, Insurance Management Consultants, Minsky’s Pizza, Nick & Jake’s, Superior Steel Erectors, Sweet Chai Photography, Tanner’s Bar & Grill, The Other Place, and Tuk Tuk Thai.
Jaguar Nation is proud to support cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers and will continue the fight for a cure.
