At the USD 232 Board of Education meeting on Monday, December 2, the Mill Valley High School Volleyball team was recognized with a Certificate of Achievement for winning the 2024 Kansas Class 6A State Championship. This accomplishment is even more remarkable as it is the second consecutive state title for this team. The Jaguars finished their season with an overall record of 37 and 5; and went undefeated in the Sunflower League.

Joining Head Coach Kylie Corneliusen at Monday’s BOE meeting were MV teammates Sophia Sturdy, Ashlyn Blazer, Ellie Bain, Remi Ziebell, Brekhan Waters and Riley Riggs along with assistant coach, Joanna Riggs.

The 2024 volleyball season was a productive one for many of the players. MV junior, Ella Florez, was named Kansas 6A Player of the Year and Sunflower league Player of the Year. Florez also earned First Team All-State Honors along with sophomore, Riley Riggs. MV senior Saida Jacobs and junior, Corinne Schwindt, were named to the second All-State Honors team. Making the All-State Tournament team were MV players Riley Riggs, Ella Florez, and junior Leilah Perry.

Finally, Head Coach Kylie Corneliusen was named the Sunflower League Coach of the Year and the Kansas Class 6A All-State Coach of the Year.

Congratulations to the Mill Valley Volleyball team for an outstanding season!
