Graduation

  • Parents & Seniors,

Traditionally, we have hosted graduation ceremony inside in our Main Gym.  Due to the growth in student enrollment at De Soto High School, I have met with Seniors on October 3rd, October 17th and November 7th to discuss matters and answer particular questions pertaining to graduation.  On November 14th and November 16th our Senior Class Officers conducted a vote during lunch and the Seniors ultimately chose to keep the ceremony inside (May 19, 2018 @ 2:00).

As a result, only those individuals with tickets will be admitted into the main gymnasium (exceptions cannot be made).  Ticket holders include all parents, siblings, family members, and friends regardless of age.  Please know we must adhere to the ticket system in the gym for the safety of all family, staff and students.  The number of tickets issued to each student for this year’s graduation is eight (8).  The tickets will be distributed to graduating seniors during their graduation rehearsal on Friday, May 18.  Please note that DHS does not collect any unused tickets.

To further assist families, the ceremony will be live-streamed to supervised locations inside DHS and outside of the building as well.  I hope this will allow many more family and friends to watch.

Graduation will be a special memory for our students and their families.  Thank you for your time and understanding.

    -Mr. Mortenson
