• Parents and Seniors,

Congratulations! At the writing of this letter, we are only 67 school days away from the Class of 2019’s graduation ceremony on May 18 at 11:00 a.m. This semester will quickly pass, and we want to make sure to inform you of important information in preparation for your big day.

As in the past, we plan to hold the ceremony in the main gymnasium of De Soto High School. Due to the finite number of seats in the venue, we will provide tickets to students for guests to the ceremony. Only those individuals with tickets will be admitted into the main gymnasium. The number of tickets to be issued to each student for this year’s graduation is eight (8). Individuals requiring a ticket include any parents, siblings, relatives, and friends attending regardless of age. Please know we must adhere to the ticket system in the gym for the safety of all (exceptions cannot be made).

The tickets will be distributed as per the Senior Timeline (emailed, mailed, tweeted, and posted on our website) and DHS cannot facilitate the collection and redistribution any unused tickets. To further assist families, the ceremony will provide for overflow seating at DHS. The event will be live-streamed to the Theater, Commons and available to the public via the district’s YouTube channel. We hope this will allow many more family and friends to watch.

At this point in a student’s academic career, the greatest hurdle to success is school attendance. We know our seniors are excited about their future and they should be, but regular attendance becomes increasingly important as they finish their final semester of high school.

We look forward to the next few months, with an eye toward May – when our current seniors become alumni of DHS.

Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!

    Kind Regards,

    Sam Ruff
