Mill Creek Middle School’s regular day will shift by five minutes to 7:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Last year, our start and end times were 7:55 a.m. and 3:05 p.m.

The reason the district made this change is to address a bus transportation issue that emerged last school year with some elementary buses arriving late at dismissal, primarily at two of our elementary schools. This issue occurred after Mill Creek buses had completed their routes and were late arriving for their elementary routes. Based on feedback and data received from First Student, the district’s school bus transportation provider, a shift in five minutes is a strategic step to address the issue.

We want to emphasize that the new start/end times are only for Mill Creek Middle School and were approved by the Board of Education on July 10.

For planning purposes, please note the start of the new school year.

• August 16 – Half day ONLY for grades K-6 and 9.
  Mill Creek 6^th grade students will begin at 7:50 a.m. and dismiss at 11:12 a.m.
  
  
• August 17 – First Day of School for ALL students.
  Mill Creek begins at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
