Mize students compete at KCIC

On April 13, Mize fifth graders competed in the Kansas City Invention Convention at UMKC, presented by The Linda Hall Engineering Library.

At this year’s KCIC, 76 kids from Mize attended with other Kansas City area students in grades 5-12. Each Mize team had a display, prototype, logbook, and pitch for their invention idea.  Students used their writing, speaking, technology and teamwork skills to work on the problem solving and engineering design process for each of their projects. The metro-wide competition provides students access to resources, workshops and mentors to help develop ideas from concept to prototype along with a chance to participate in national and global competitions.
