New Performing Arts Theater
The original theater facilities were inadequate to support a 5A/6A high school with seating capacity of only 350. The proposal calls for new theater space to more than double the seating capacity to more than 750, better supporting our fine arts programs. The new space will also be used for large class meetings, other school activities, and community events. Once the new theater is constructed, the original theater will be repurposed to meet student needs and increase school capacity with additional learning spaces. The new performing arts theatre at MVHS is part of Phase One. De Soto High school, which has the same facility issues as MVHS, will see construction on its new theatre in Phase Three.
