If you are a parent of a child with special needs and are preparing to transition your student to a new school setting within the USD 232 school district for the next school year, the Special Services Advisory Committee would like to invite you to attend our Parent Forum on Transition on February 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mill Creek Middle School.
Families play an important role in supporting their child with exceptionalities as they navigate different transitions throughout their school careers. Traditionally, the second semester can bring many questions and anxieties for parents as they consider the necessary steps to help their child successfully transition to a new school or program.
At this forum, we will have staff available to share information and answer questions pertaining to transitions from early childhood to elementary school, elementary school to middle school, middle school to high school, as well as high school to post-secondary.
It is our belief that transition anxieties can be lowered when parents feel empowered to work collaboratively with school teams in best preparing their child for their upcoming transition. If interested in attending this parent forum, please register here.
