CANCELLED: Vaping: Trends & Challenges

Graphic with the words Vaping; trends and challenges.

UPDATE: The Student Well-Being event on Vaping, scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2020, has unfortunately been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Please look for this event to be rescheduled sometime this spring.

Many of today's youth don’t “Smoke” cigarettes or “Smoke” marijuana - they Vape.

The ever-changing landscape of substance use continues to be a significant problem for treatment providers, parents and lawmakers. Today’s adolescents are being exposed to a wide variety of synthetic products, high potency substances and technological advances in delivery methods. In-fact, our teens will argue that they have elected to choose a healthy alternative to the cancer-causing products of the past.

Please join us on Tuesday, January 21 at 6:30pm in the Mill Valley High School Theater for a presentation and panel discussion specifically targeted on what is happening in our community.

To help us plan for this event, please click HERE to RSVP.

Kevin Kufeldt, Program Manager for Johnson County Mental Health, will help detail the ever-changing trends in adolescent substance use, the potency of products being ingested and the challenges that youth are facing both in their overall functioning and substance use dependency.

An engaging panel discussion will follow the presentation that will include local internist Dr. Damien Stevens, Kevin Kufeldt from Johnson County Mental Health and a member of the USD 232 Administration.
