No School on Monday, May 3

The Board of Education approved a revision to the current school year calendar at its meeting on Monday, March 22.

Monday, May 3, 2021 will no longer be a school day for students and staff; all school buildings will be closed.

When the 2020-21 calendar was revised due to the pandemic, school breaks in April and May were reduced.  Due to action by the Kansas State Board of Education and a reduced need for emergency closure days, it is now possible to allow for this break.  The Board of Education recognizes that a one-day break from school this May can help students and staff be more productive as we finish the school year.

This adjustment to the calendar will still allow the school district to meet the state’s requirement for student contact time for the 2020-21 school year.  Additional emergency closure days could necessitate the Board of Education reconsidering this decision.
