Two U.S. Flags flown in honor of USD 232 and De Soto High School

De Soto High School teacher, Michael Sullivan, is also Lieutenant Colonel Michael Sullivan, 35th Infantry Division, United  States Army. He is currently deployed to active duty in Kuwait.

LTC Sullivan made arrangements to have two U.S. Flags flown in honor of USD 232 and De Soto High School on 11 September 2022 over the United States Army Command, Area Support Group, Kuwait Headquarters, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

The flags were placed in shadow boxes and presented to the Board of Education at its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 7. Each flag is on display at the Board of Education and De Soto High School. The USD 232 community thanks LTC Sullivan for his service to our country.

1LT Leanna McClintock

In addition to LTC Sullivan, the school district is proud to share that another employee is serving our country. Leanna McClintock is a second grade teacher at Clear Creek Elementary school in Shawnee. She is also First Lieutenant, Company Commander of Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation Regiment with the Kansas Army National Guard. 1LT McClintock is a helicopter pilot. We are sharing this information to show deep appreciation for those currently serving our country.
