Two MVHS Seniors named U.S. Presidential Scholars candidates
Congratulations to Mill Valley High School seniors, Sarah Johnston and Dalton Gabbert, for being named candidates in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. This national recognition program honors our nation’s most distinguished high school seniors and their academic achievement.
Presidential Scholars are selected based on three paths of accomplishment, which include the arts, career and technical education, or high-test scores on the SAT or ACT college admission tests. All candidates must also submit a variety of materials including essays, self-assessments, grade cards and transcripts.
“Being named a candidate for the 2023 Presidential Scholar Award is a recognition of Sarah’s and Dalton’s exceptional talents.” Mill Valley Principal, Dr. Gail Holder shared. “Their academic success with their demonstrated commitment to community service and leadership is why they are among the best high school students in the country.”
Later this spring, applications of the program candidates will be reviewed and up to 161 students will be named as Presidential Scholars, which is one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
