Mill Valley High School Orchestra earn 2023 Blue Star Nomination

MVHS 2023 Blue Star Nomination

The Mill Valley High School Pit Orchestra earned a Blue Star Nomination for Outstanding Ochestra for their performance in the fall musical, Guys and Dolls.  Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards®, the Blue Star Awards are sponsored by Starlight Theatre and has 54 schools and more than 4,000 metro area students participating, making the program one of the largest and most respected high school musical awards shows in the nation.

The Mill Valley orchestra for Guys and Dolls started rehearsing in September 2022. The group rehearsed for a total of 50 hours before performing four shows during November 2022.

Judges from Starlight attend each registered musical performance, then provide evaluations and commentary which is later shared with each participating school.  Winners will be announced in 26 categories and more than $6,500 in scholarships will be awarded at the Blue Star Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at Starlight Theatre.
