Selected eighth grade math students participate in STEM Student Day at JCCC

Eighth grade Compact Math students from all three middle schools, Lexington Trails, Mill Creek and Monticello Trails, took part in an exciting field trip opportunity on Friday, November 3.  Panasonic partnered with NASA, and the National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) for STEM FEST ’23 at Johnson County Community College to host a day specifically for students in the Kansas City Metro area. A total of 80 students from USD 232 joined approximately 100 other local students with interests in engineering, technology, or science pathways in high school and beyond for this event.

STEM FEST ‘23 Student Day was designed to be a Science Fair-inspired day with representatives from NASA, NIA, and Panasonic highlighting STEM education with Build-Your-Own Robot kits and other interactive activity rotations. Students had the opportunity to learn more about the future of work in the technology industry on a local and national level.
