Principal named for Clear Creek Elementary School

Unified School District No. 232 on Monday, March 4, 2024, announced Mrs. Ashley Olerich as the new principal of Clear Creek Elementary, effective with the 2024-25 school year. Olerich’s appointment was formally approved by the Board of Education on March 4.

Ashley OlerichOlerich brings 18 years of educational experience to Clear Creek Elementary and will succeed Mrs. Kelley Begley-McCall, who announced her resignation in January to pursue other professional opportunities at the conclusion of the current school year.

The appointment of Olerich follows an extensive search process conducted by the school district, which included interest from 31 applicants. “We are pleased to have Ashley Olerich accept the leadership position at Clear Creek,” said Carrie Handy, Executive Director of Elementary Education. “Her experience and commitment to improve student learning will have a positive impact on the great teaching already taking place at CCE. Her enthusiasm will help us achieve the district’s vision to maximize the potential of all students.”

Olerich is currently serving as the assistant principal, curriculum and instruction leader, and activities director at Pioneer Trail Middle School with Olathe Public Schools – a position she has held since 2022. “I am excited to join USD 232 and the Clear Creek Eagle family as their building leader,” Olerich said. “The excellence and outstanding achievements of Clear Creek and its community go above and beyond, and I cannot wait to continue to support and build on its success. This new opportunity is also very personal as my own family is a part of the school community. My children already attend and love Clear Creek so dearly. Reid (9) and Maci (5) adore being Clear Creek Eagles. My husband, Adam, is also an Eagle, but at Olathe North High School where he serves as a physical education teacher and their head boys’ basketball coach. Our family could not be more excited about this opportunity. It is a great day to be an EAGLE!”

Olerich will contact the CCE school community in the coming weeks to welcome families and students to the 2024-25 school year.

Olerich began her career in education in 2006 with Olathe Public Schools as an English Language Arts teacher. She also served as department chair, a member of the building leadership team, and head softball coach. In 2020, she accepted a leadership position with Tonganoxie School District where she served as middle and high school assistant principal for two years before rejoining Olathe.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of New Mexico, a master’s degree in sports business administration from University of Central Missouri, and a master’s degree in school leadership from Baker University.
