Welcome New DHS Staff!
De Soto High School welcomes twelve new teachers for the 2022-2023 school year. We are excited about our crew of new teachers, and hope you will join us in welcoming them to our school community.
- Adrianna Christopher returns to her high school alma mater, teaching Family and Consumer Science.
- Kathryn Floyd joins our math department teaching Honors Integrated Math II.
- Mikendra Gotham will be teaching Art I, Art II, and Drawing.
- Abbey Heller will join our Student Services team as a counselor for students with last name H-N.
- Scott Koertner will join our science department, teaching Chemistry.
- Ryan Meara will be joining our ELA department, teaching 9th-grade English and Creative Writing.
- Catherine Miller-Desbois will join or world language department, teaching Spanish I and Spanish III.
- Jacob Penner joins our social studies department, teaching Honors/World Geo and the AVID Elective.
- Amy Riley joins our CTE team and will teach publications including Newspaper and Yearbook.
- Susan Smith will be teaching all of our French classes, Study Skills, and Individual and Collaborative Studies.
- Savannah Steinmetz, another DHS alumna,returns to teach Special Education.
- Javier Vieyrajoins our social studies department teaching US History, Civics, and World Geo.
