Academic Letter Recognition

Academic Letter Recognition

At De Soto High School, it is important that students are recognized in a variety of ways. Some recognition may include performance in athletics, participation in clubs or groups, and/or special honors/awards. One of the ways we recognize academic performance at DHS is with an Academic Letter.

Students are awarded Academic Letters if they have achieved a 3.7 GPA for two consecutive semesters (Fall to Spring). For each subsequent year that the student continues to receive a 3.7 GPA or higher, the student will receive an academic bar that can be placed on their letter. We mail home a letter to each students that qualifies for this award in mid-December.

This year’s award ceremony takes place on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Students will be recognized at the conclusion of the girls’ basketball game at approximately 7:15 p.m. Upon arrival to the school, students should report to the Turf Room. Please have student’s check-in no later than 7:00 p.m. Due to the number of students that will be recognized, we will not be able to announce each individual name, but will have the students proceed onto the court to be recognized as a group.

Congrats to all the students recognized for this academic achievement!
