Mill Valley High School musicians earn 2023 Blue Star Nomination
The Mill Valley High School Pit Orchestra earned a Blue Star Nomination for Outstanding Ochestra for their performance in the fall musical, Guys and Dolls. Modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards®, the Blue Star Awards are sponsored by Starlight Theatre and is open to all high schools in the Kansas City metro area. The orchestra started rehearsing in September for a total of 50 hours of rehearsal before performing four shows during November 2022.

Judges attend each registered musical performance, then provide evaluations and commentary which is later shared with each participating school. Winners will be announced in 26 categories and more than $6,500 in scholarships will be awarded at the Blue Star Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at Starlight Theatre.
